I am a molecular biologist based in the Boston area. I use molecular tools such as restriction enzymes, polymerase chain reactions, DNA, RNA, and genetic analyzers coupled with statistics to solve complex problems. I have always enjoyed and aspired to work in the field of molecular genetics, although I have experimented with other fields along the way such as ecology and teaching.
Since working in my first molecular lab as a high school intern, I have been inclined to perceive patterns, identify variables, classify priorities, and solve problems. I have used these attributes throughout my career to develop into an intuitive and curious scientist. My attention to detail, methodical, and pragmatic view toward research causes me to plan cautiously and be open-minded when opportunity arises.
I am currently exploring career options that will utilize my skills in the lab. Fields that are of particular interest to me include computational biology, synthetic biology, genetic engineering, gene therapy, health, and evolution.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, trying new foods, and experiencing different cultures.
